Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for married couples to live on-campus in student homes at Milton Hershey School. Couples provide care, supervision, and mentorship to a group of approximately 8–13 students, manage household routines and student schedules, administer medications, drive students to activities, lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, oversee budgeting and reporting, and transition from Flex Houseparents to Placed Houseparents. Requires two spouses who are legally married for at least two years, both aged 27 or older, with a high school diploma or GED, and willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA. Salary per person is $44,768 with total compensation around $168,000 per couple, plus comprehensive benefits and relocation assistance.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
