Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparent role at Milton Hershey School. Couples reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, mentorship, supervision, and support for approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, overseeing budgeting and reporting, and progressing to a placed houseparent role living with the same group of students. The position offers relocation assistance, paid training, comprehensive benefits, and housing/meal provisions. Work schedule begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off; relocation to Hershey, PA is required.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- High school diploma or GED required
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
