Job Summary
Two-person Flex Houseparent role at Milton Hershey School located on campus in Hershey, PA. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, supervise ~813 students, provide care and mentorship, manage household routines, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan and participate in developmental and recreational activities, lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and oversee budgeting and household reporting. Initially support various student homes on a rotating nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule, then transition to a placed houseparent role living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person ($44,768) with comprehensive health benefits, retirement options, relocation assistance, paid training, and housing/meals on duty.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. drivers license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Ability to lead daily devotions and accompany to Sunday Chapel
- Comfort with on-campus housing and living arrangements
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Proven integrity and professionalism; role modelling for students
