Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for married couples as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for 8–13 students, manage household routines, supervise daily activities, administer medications, drive students to activities, lead devotions and Sunday Chapel, and oversee budgeting and reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement as a persistent Houseparent living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person ($44,768) plus comprehensive benefits and relocation assistance. Requires two-person, legally married couple; both spouses must be 27+; high school diploma or GED; valid driver’s license and ability to drive student vans; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- High school diploma or GED required
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
