Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents live on campus in a student home to supervise, mentor, and support a group of 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and reporting, and transitioning to a Placed Houseparent role with a stable student home. The role is a two-person, married-couple position with relocation to Hershey, PA required and relocation assistance provided. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a commitment to a safe, smoke-free, weapon-free campus and Judeo-Christian values. For consideration, both spouses must complete individual applications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
