Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist positions for married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents on a campus-based program. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, supervise and mentor a group of approximately 8–13 students, plan and supervise daily routines, lead devotions, drive students to activities, manage household budgeting and reporting, and transition from nine consecutive days on duty with three days off to a fixed placement in a single student home. Requires high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and couples must be legally married for at least two years and both be at least 27 years old. Relocation assistance is provided. Benefits include medical/dental/vision, retirement options, paid time off, housing and meals on duty, and free housing. Salary is $46,917 per person (approximately $180,000 total per couple), with full benefits. Preference for experience with youth, ability to lead devotional activities, and willingness to live on-campus in a family-like environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Two-year marriage duration minimum for both spouses
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Comfort leading daily devotions and chapel services
- Willingness to relocate to Hershey, PA and reside on-campus
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- No more than three dependent children in the student home
