Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for married couples at Milton Hershey School on campus in Hershey, PA. Fully funded two-person, full-time Flex Houseparent positions involve residing in on-campus student homes, supervising and mentoring 8–13 students, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and leading developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing household routines and budgeting, and eventual placement as a Houseparent living with the same group of students. The position includes relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, and paid training; applicants must be legally married for at least two years, both spouses at least 27, and meet other housing and safety requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Two-person role for married couples (both spouses must apply)
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Two spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Proficiency in leading daily devotions and accompanying to Sunday Chapel
- Comfort driving student vans and coordinating student activities
- Ability to follow budgeting and reporting for household operations
