Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist (two-person Flex Houseparent role) at Milton Hershey School requiring a married couple to reside on-campus in Hershey, PA, supervising and mentoring 8–13 students in a home setting, managing daily routines and activities, administering medications, driving students to activities, leading devotions and chapel, budgeting and reporting, and transitioning from a Flex Houseparent to a placed Houseparent. Requires high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and willingness to relocate. The role is full-time, on-campus with relocation assistance provided; includes comprehensive benefits and paid training. Both spouses must apply individually, be legally married for at least two years, and be aged 27 or older.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and chapel services (Judeo-Christian)
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
