Job Summary
Provide daily supervision, mentorship, and guidance for 8–13 students in an on-campus home while managing household routines, schedules, and medication administration. Drive students to activities, plan recreational programs, lead daily devotions, and accompany them to Sunday Chapel services. Oversee budgeting and household reporting, then transition to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same student group. Work nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with unscheduled weekday time while students are in school. This two-person role for legally married couples (ages 27+) fosters a structured, family-like environment supporting academic, emotional, and social development at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
Desired Qualifications
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
