Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist responsibilities include living in on-campus student homes as a Full-time Flex Houseparent couple, providing daily supervision, mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and leading devotions and chapel, overseeing budgeting and reporting, and engaging in developmental and recreational activities with students. The role starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with potential transition to a Placed Houseparent role to live and work with the same group of students. Relocation to Hershey, PA is required; benefits include salary per person, comprehensive insurance options, relocation assistance, paid training, and paid time off. The position requires experience with youth, a valid U.S. driver’s license, and a clean campus lifestyle; it is a two-person couple role for legally married spouses and mandates that both spouses complete individual applications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
