Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for a two-person married couple (Flex Houseparents) at Milton Hershey School. Live on campus in student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with an eventual placement as a Houseparent living with the same group of students. Benefits include a salary of $44,768 per person (approximately $168,000 total per couple), comprehensive health benefits, relocation assistance, paid training, and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
