Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist positions for two-person married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School. Couples reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students, managing daily routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role starts with a nine-on, three-off schedule and may transition to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same student group. Benefits include salary per person ($44,768) with comprehensive medical/dental/vision, relocation assistance, paid training, and paid time off. Two spouses must complete individual applications for consideration; location is Huntington Beach, CA with relocation to Hershey, PA anticipated.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Two years of marriage (for consideration as a two-person role)
- Couples must be aged 27 or older per spouse
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- No alcohol on duty
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Reliable transportation for relocation to Hershey, PA (implied by relocation)
