Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparent role on the Milton Hershey School campus in Hershey, PA. The couple resides in on-campus student homes, supervises and mentors a group of approximately 8–13 students, manages household routines and student schedules, administers medications, transports students to activities, plans and participates in developmental and recreational activities, leads daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, oversees budgeting and household reporting, and progresses from a Flex Houseparent to a Placed Houseparent while living and working with the same student group.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Two-person role for legally married couples (at least two years)
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
Additional Requirements
- Two-person role for married couples (must be legally married for at least two years)
- No alcohol on duty
- Smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- No more than three dependent children in the student home
- Fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
