Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparent role located on Milton Hershey School campus to reside in student homes and provide supervision, care, guidance, and development support for groups of 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and leading developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting, and reporting. After an initial nine-on/two-to-three-off schedule, couples may transition to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same group. Salary per person is $44,768 with comprehensive benefits and relocation assistance; on-campus housing and meals are included. Requires completion of individual applications by both spouses and a valid U.S. driver’s license; physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs; commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; ability to lead religious activities per Judeo-Christian services.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of married life (legally married for at least two years)
- Both spouses must complete individual employment applications
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
- Willingness to reside on-campus in student homes
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- No alcohol on duty; smoke-free campus; weapon-free campus
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Experience working with youth (volunteering or employment)
- Place-based work in a residential student home setting
- Two-person role requirement for couples
