Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for married couples as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School. Couples reside in on-campus student homes to provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for approximately 813 students, including supervising daily routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and leading development and recreational activities, and guiding daily devotions and Sunday Chapel. Initially nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement into a stable houseparent assignment living with the same group of students. Includes relocation assistance, paid training, comprehensive benefits, and housing utilities as part of total compensation. Requires two-year married status, both spouses age 27+, and a high school diploma or GED.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. drivers license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- High school diploma or GED
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
