Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparent role for married couples at Milton Hershey School. Living in on-campus student homes, you will supervise and mentor 8–13 students, manage household routines and student schedules, administer medications and ensure student wellness, drive students to activities, plan and participate in developmental/recreational activities, lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel, and oversee budgeting and household reporting. Initially you’ll support multiple student homes on a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule, with potential transition to a placed houseparent in the same student home. Relocation to Hershey, PA is provided; benefits include comprehensive medical/dental/vision, retirement options, life and disability insurance, and paid time off. Both spouses must complete individual employment applications for consideration.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years married (spouses)
- Two spouses age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to supervise and mentor youth
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
- Ability to live and work with the same group of students in a home setting
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
Additional Requirements
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
