Job Summary
Flex Houseparents are a two-person, full-time on-campus role for married couples who reside in student homes to supervise, mentor, and support 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and reporting, and transitioning to a placed houseparent role with a consistent student group. The position requires both spouses to apply individually, a minimum of two years of marriage, ages 27 or older per spouse, a valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus. Relocation assistance and paid training are provided; salary is $44,768 per person (approx. $168,000 total per couple with benefits). Relocation benefits are included.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-spouse married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
