Job Summary
Two-person on-campus Flex Houseparent role at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, provides care, guidance, supervision, and support for 8–13 students in a student home. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same group of students. The position offers full-time employment with relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, and paid training; requires a legally married couple for at least two years, both spouses aged 27+, a high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and compliance with campus rules.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
