Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for married couples serving as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School. Couples reside in on-campus student homes to supervise and mentor approximately 8–13 students, manage daily routines, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan and engage in developmental and recreational activities, and lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel. Initially working a nine-on, three-off cycle across multiple homes, couples will transition to a Placed Houseparent role with the same student home. Relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits provided; salary per person is $44,768 with total compensation to the couple around $168,000.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for married couples
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
