Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for married couples serving as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School. Couples reside in on-campus student homes (approximately 8–13 students) and provide supervision, mentorship, and life-skills support, including meal planning, daily routines, transportation to activities, devotions, and coordination of household budgeting and reporting. Initial schedule: nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent in a single student home. Requires high school diploma or GED, valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and two-year-marriage minimum for both spouses; both spouses must apply individually. Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
