Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for two-person, full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA. Couples reside in on-campus student homes to supervise and mentor 8–13 students, manage household routines and schedules, administer medications, drive students to activities, lead daily devotions, accompany Sunday Chapel, oversee budgeting and household reporting, and progress from flexible assignments to a Placed Houseparent living with the same group of students. Requires a legally married two-person team, both spouses age 27+, high school diploma or GED, valid U.S. driver’s license (and ability to become certified to drive student home vans), ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and commitment to a smoke-free, weapon-free campus with no alcohol on duty.
Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism

- No smoking on campus
- No alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
