Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist pair of married couples to reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and following a nine-days-on/three-days-off schedule before transitioning to a placed houseparent role living with the same group of students. Relocation assistance is provided and the role emphasizes a safe, smoke- and weapon-free campus with no alcohol on duty; requires high school diploma or GED, valid U.S. driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and two-year marriage with both spouses completing individual applications.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
