Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for married couples as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, provide care, supervision, mentorship, and support for groups of 8–13 students, manage household routines and student schedules, administer medications, drive students to activities, lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, oversee budgeting and household reporting, and transition from initial nine-days-on/three-days-off duty to a placed Houseparent living with the same group of students. Relocation assistance provided; salary per person is $44,768 (total for a couple approx. $168,000) with comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role-model behavior for students
