Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for married couples serving as Full-time Flex Houseparents on a Milton Hershey School campus. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring 8–13 students, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and chapel, overseeing budgeting and reporting, and transitioning from a Flex Houseparent to a Placed Houseparent living in the same student home. Requires a two-person, married-couple arrangement with relocation to Hershey, PA; position includes on-campus housing and comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
Additional Requirements
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Pets allowed: only fish and one dog of approved breeds
