Job Summary
Full-time two-person Flex Houseparent role for married couples at Milton Hershey School; live on campus in on-campus student homes and supervise a group of students, providing care, guidance, supervision, and support, including supervision of routines, medication administration, transportation to activities, developmentally appropriate activities, daily devotions, and Sunday Chapel; initially nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a placed houseparent living and working with the same student group; relocation assistance and paid training provided; requires both spouses to apply, high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. drivers license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
