Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for a two-person, married couple placed as Flex Houseparents in on-campus student homes in Hershey, PA. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring 8–13 students, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and reporting. Initially nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent living and working with the same student group. Includes relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- Ability to relocate to Hershey, PA
- Capable of leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel participation
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
