Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist – a two-person Flex Houseparent role at Milton Hershey School. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, providing care, supervision, mentorship, and support for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines, managing schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and reporting, and a nine-days-on/three-days-off work cycle transitioning to a Placed Houseparent. Salary per person is $44,768 with full benefits and relocation assistance; positions are full-time with housing and meals included.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; ability to serve as role models for students
