Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparent roles for married couples on an on-campus student home at Milton Hershey School. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring a group of 8–13 students, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and reporting, and transitioning from initial nine-on/three-off duty to a placed houseparent with the same student group. Requires high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and comfort with Judeo-Christian chapel services; couples must be married at least two years and both spouses must apply individually. Salary $44,768 per person (approximately $168,000 total per couple) plus comprehensive benefits and relocation assistance.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-year minimum couple eligibility (legally married for at least two years)
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
Additional Requirements
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
