Job Summary
Flex Houseparents (two-person, married couple) reside in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, budgeting and household reporting, and a long-term transition to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same group of students. Initial schedule is nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off. Benefits include salary per person and relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, paid time off, and training. Qualifications emphasize experience with youth, a two-spouse, legally married partnership, and compliance with campus rules and safety requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-spouse employment: both spouses must apply
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading devotions and Chapel services
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- No alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
Additional Requirements
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- Two-person role for couples
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children in home
