Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparent roles at Milton Hershey School involve residing in on-campus student homes and providing care, guidance, supervision, and support for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three off, with eventual transition to a placed houseparent living with the same group of students. Relocation to Hershey, PA is required; benefits include medical/dental/vision, retirement options, paid training, relocation assistance, and paid time off. The position requires two spouses who are legally married for at least two years, with both spouses aged 27 or older, and a commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus with limited dependents and a valid driver’s license for transporting students.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two spouses must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
