Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparents reside on campus in student homes in Hershey, PA, to provide daily supervision, mentorship, and care for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising routines, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and conducting developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with progression to a placed Houseparent living with the same group of students. Benefits include salary of $44,768 per person (approximately $168,000 total per couple) plus comprehensive benefits and relocation assistance.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- This is a two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
