Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School serve as a two-person married couple in on-campus student homes, supervising and mentoring 8–13 students, managing routines and schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions, and overseeing budgeting and reporting. The role begins with a nine-on, three-off schedule across multiple homes, eventually transitioning to a placed houseparent role with the same group of students. The position includes relocation to Hershey, PA, comprehensive benefits, and relocation assistance. Requires a high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and willingness to participate in daily devotions and chapel services; both spouses must apply individually and be legally married for at least two years, with both partners aged 27 or older.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Pet limitations as stated (fish and one dog of approved breeds)
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
