Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for married couples to live and work on Milton Hershey School campus as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring 8–13 students, managing household routines, administering medications, driving to activities, planning developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and reporting. Nine days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement in a single student home. Includes relocation to Hershey, PA, competitive compensation per person with full benefits and housing, and paid relocation/training. Requires two-spouse application submission; must be legally married for ≥2 years, both aged ≥27, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and adherence to campus policies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
