Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist for a married couple living on-campus at Milton Hershey School. The role involves supervising and mentoring a group of 8–13 students, managing household routines, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and leading developmental and recreational activities, and guiding students during daily devotions and Sunday Chapel. The position starts with a nine-days-on, three-days-off cycle and may transition into a Placed Houseparent role living with the same group of students. Requires on-site living, a two-person married-couple team, high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus. Relocation assistance is provided along with comprehensive benefits. Salary is $44,768 per person (approximately $168,000 total per couple). Relocation and paid training are included; benefits cover medical, dental, vision, HSA/FSA, life and disability insurance, and retirement savings. For consideration, both spouses must complete individual applications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples (mandatory for consideration)
- Completion of individual employment applications by both spouses
