Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, reside in on-campus student homes to provide care, mentorship, and supervision for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and leading developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and chapel attendance, budgeting and household reporting, and eventually transitioning to a Placed Houseparent role with the same student group. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off; includes relocation to campus and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, retirement savings, and relocation assistance.
Required Qualifications
- Qualifications include: Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
Additional Requirements
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- Proselytizing prohibited
