Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for a two-person, married-couple team serving as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School. Couples reside in on-campus student homes with roughly 8–13 students, providing daily supervision, mentorship, and support to foster academic, emotional, and social development. Responsibilities include supervising routines, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and budgeting/house reporting. Initial schedule is nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a placed houseparent living in the same student home. Includes relocation to the Hershey, PA area with full benefits, relocation assistance, and paid training. Requires experience with youth, a two-year-married status, age 27+, adherence to campus policies, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role models for students
- Relocation assistance and paid training provided
