Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School reside on-campus in student homes and provide care, supervision, and development support for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and leading developmental and recreational activities, conducting daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and reporting, and supporting multiple homes with a nine-on/three-off work cycle before transitioning to a placed houseparent with a consistent home group.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Two-person role for couples
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Legally married for at least two years
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Proven integrity and professionalism
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Willingness to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services
