Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist (two-personFlex Houseparents) — couples live in on-campus student homes in Hershey, PA, providing care, guidance, supervision, and development opportunities for approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring students, managing household routines and schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and leading developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and budgeting/reporting for the household. After an initial nine-on/three-off schedule, couples transition to a placed houseparent role with the same group of students. Relocation assistance and paid training are provided; benefits include medical/dental/vision, HSAs/FSAs, life and disability insurance, and retirement savings. Requires two-year married couples, both spouses aged 27+, valid driver's license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and adherence to a smoke-free, weapon-free campus; requires completion of individual applications by both spouses.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for married couples
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus
- No alcohol on duty
- Pet limitations: fish and one dog of approved breeds
- Willingness to complete individual applications for consideration
