Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for married couples as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, supervise and mentor 8–13 students, manage household routines and schedules, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan and participate in devotions and Chapel services, oversee budgeting and reporting. Start with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, then transition to a Placed Houseparent position with same student group. Competitive compensation per person (~$44,768) plus comprehensive benefits and relocation assistance. Requires two spouses who are legally married for at least two years, both aged 27+, high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and commitment to a safe, drug- and alcohol-free campus.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
