Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for married couples as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, providing supervision, mentorship, and support for approximately 8–13 students, with duties including supervising daily routines, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions, and overseeing budgeting and reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with potential transition to a Placed Houseparent living and working with the same group. Requires a high school diploma or GED, valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and adherence to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus with no alcohol on duty. Relocation assistance and paid training provided; compensation per person around $44,768 with total couple compensation around $168,000 when including housing and meals.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
