Job Summary
Youth Development Specialist role for married couples serving as Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, provide supervision, mentorship, and support for 8–13 students, manage routines, administer medications, transport students to activities, lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, oversee budgeting and reporting, and transition from Flex to Placed Houseparent. Requires prior experience with youth, a high school diploma or GED, a valid U.S. driver’s license with ability to become certified to drive student vans, willingness to live on campus, and a commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free environment. Relocation assistance provided; salary $44,768 per person (approx. $168,000 total per couple) plus comprehensive benefits. Both spouses must complete individual applications for consideration. Salary is annualized; benefits include health, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
