Youth Development Specialist

Job Summary
Conduct daily guidance and mentoring with children and adolescents, supervising students in classrooms and educational settings while reinforcing academic and behavioral expectations. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, student home staff, and counselors to support holistic student development, assist with implementing individualized learning and behavior support plans, and monitor progress to inform interventions. Facilitate character-building and life-skills activities, promote positive peer interactions, and lead educational enrichment, after-school programs, and co-curricular activities that foster personal growth and leadership. Apply trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices to de-escalate challenging situations and model respectful, inclusive behavior. This full-time role on campus in Hershey, Pennsylvania, supports MHS's mission of providing a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment for students from pre-K through 12th grade.
Required Qualifications

- Commitment to trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices
- Prior experience working with youth in educational, residential, or community-based programs
- Understanding of child and adolescent development
- Minimum of a H.S. diploma or equivalent
Desired Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in education, social work, psychology, or a related field
- Youth development or teaching certifications
- CPR/First Aid training
- Crisis intervention training
