Youth Development Specialist

Job Summary
Supervise students in classrooms and educational settings while reinforcing academic and behavioral expectations. Build strong, trusting relationships with children and adolescents to support their academic, social, and emotional growth. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, home staff, and counselors to implement individualized learning and behavior support plans. Facilitate character-building activities, plan educational enrichment programs, and lead co-curricular events that foster resilience and leadership. Monitor student progress, document observations, and de-escalate challenging situations using trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices. Full-time, on-site role in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
Required Qualifications

- Ability to de-escalate challenging situations
- Commitment to trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices
- Prior experience working with youth in educational, residential, or community-based programs
- Understanding of child and adolescent development
- H.S. diploma or equivalent
Desired Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in education, social work, psychology, or a related field
- Youth development or teaching certifications
- CPR/First Aid
- Crisis intervention training
