Youth Development Specialist

Job Summary
The Youth Development Specialist is responsible for the care and direct supervision of youth aged 10-17 in a residential program, as well as managing daily operational tasks related to the facility. Key responsibilities include providing direct supervision and interaction with residents, performing intake screenings, documentations of client interactions, assisting with recreational activities, ensuring facility cleanliness and maintenance, managing medication administration, and engaging in crisis intervention. Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, relevant work experience with at-risk youth, and a Florida driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two years general work experience with at least one-year full time work in a direct contact role with youth at risk or equivalent work hours in a part-time or volunteer direct contact role
- Computer literacy and competency
- Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing
- Valid Florida driver's license, clean driving record, and current automobile insurance
- Background compliant with requirements of the Department of Juvenile Justice
- Must successfully pass a competency exam related to the understanding of positive youth development.
