Job Summary
Provide coverage at various Boys & Girls Clubs of Utah County sites when regularly scheduled staff are absent by maintaining flexibility to accept shifts on short notice. Foster positive relationships with youth, staff, and families while actively supervising indoor and outdoor activities, including sports, recess, and enrichment programs. Teach preplanned lessons, assist with attendance tracking, and model conflict resolution skills to ensure a safe, inclusive environment for participants ages 5–18. Work part-time, hourly at Washington County Schools locations for $15–18 per hour, reporting to Site Directors or Coordinators as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Maintain flexibility and availability to accept shifts on short notice when possible
- Arrive on time and work assigned shifts
- Communicate availability and scheduling conflicts promptly
- Follow site schedules, procedures, and staff direction
- Attend required trainings as assigned
- Teach preplanned lessons to students
- Build positive relationships with youth through active engagement and mentorship
- Provide active supervision and maintain a safe environment
- Participate in games, recreation, and enrichment activities
- Lead or assist with physical activities, including sports and playground games
- Supervise outdoor activities and recess in varying weather conditions
- Support youth emotional well-being and personal growth
- Model positive communication and conflict resolution skills
- Promote inclusion, empathy, and respect among participants
- Assist youth in developing social and emotional skills
- Follow lesson plans and activity schedules provided by site staff
- Assist with attendance tracking and program documentation as directed
- Maintain organized program spaces and materials
- Follow all organizational policies and procedures
- Serve as a positive role model for youth
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude
- Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills
- Support a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment
- Represent the mission, vision, and values of the organization
- Ability to actively supervise youth indoors and outdoors
- Ability to stand, walk, and participate in recreational activities for extended periods
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift and carry program materials as needed
- Experience working with youth ages 5–12 or 13–18 in an educational or youth development setting
- Experience working on a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt quickly to different sites, staff teams, and program environments
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency with Google Suite and general computer applications preferred
