Job Summary
Plan and lead age-appropriate programs, services, and activities for youth in assigned areas including education, arts, sports, and recreation. Maintain active supervision of children at all times, monitor spaces for hazards, and enforce safety protocols while ensuring a positive Club environment. Complete program lesson plans, rosters, and cleanup responsibilities accurately. Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and partners while participating in required training and professional development. Perform other duties as assigned to support Club operations and youth safety.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 18 years old
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Successful completion of fingerprint background check
- Successful completion of drug screening
- Successful completion of mandated reporting training
- Successful completion of onboarding
- Successful completion of BGCA training
- Successful completion of BGCL training
- Ability to build positive, appropriate relationships with youth
- Ability to supervise groups of children
- Knowledge of basic safety procedures including fire, tornado, lockdown, emergency response, and field trip expectations
- Ability to follow Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier policies
- Ability to care for program equipment, supplies, and facilities
- Ability to communicate professionally and work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to participate in required training
- Ability to assist with youth meals during summer camp or other program periods
Desired Qualifications
- One to twelve months of experience working with children
