Job Summary
Plan and lead age-appropriate programs in education, arts, sports, and life skills while maintaining active supervision of youth at all times. Create a safe, welcoming environment by monitoring spaces for hazards, enforcing behavior expectations, and ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and emergency procedures. Complete accurate lesson plans, manage program equipment and supplies, and maintain clean, organized spaces before and after activities. Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and community partners while participating in required training and professional development. Work August through May from 2pm to 6:30 pm across multiple success academies and elementary sites, supporting youth development and participation in a Boys & Girls Club setting.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 18 years old
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Successful completion of fingerprint background check
- Successful completion of drug screening
- Successful completion of mandated reporting training
- Successful completion of onboarding
- Successful completion of BGCA and BGCL training requirements
- Ability to build positive, appropriate relationships with youth
- Ability to supervise groups of children
- Knowledge of basic safety procedures including fire, tornado, lockdown, emergency response, and field trip expectations
- Ability to follow Boys & Girls Clubs of Lanier policies, BGCA requirements, and site-specific procedures
- Ability to communicate professionally and work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to participate in required training
- Ability to assist with youth meals during summer camp or other program periods as assigned
Desired Qualifications
- One to twelve months of experience working with children
