Job Summary
Plan and lead center activities, assist with member registration and orientation, and provide guidance and role modeling to youth. Implement and monitor programs, evaluate services for safety and quality, and prepare periodic activity reports while assisting with outreach efforts. Safely transport members and staff to and from school, activities, and programs, ensuring all children are accounted for before and after departure. Report vehicle maintenance, cleanliness, and safety needs to the Director of Program Services or Site Director. Maintain facility and equipment in good working order, keeping storage areas orderly and clean. Report repairs, maintenance, and janitorial needs to the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License
- Must be over the age of 21
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Ability to lift (or obtain assistance lifting) moderately heavy (30-60 lbs.) program equipment
- Ability to perform a variety of physical activities on a regular basis requiring constant motion (standing, walking, bending, squatting, climbing, reaching, pushing/pulling and hand-eye coordination)
- Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of spoken words, communicating orally with others accurately and clearly
- Position requires travel within the community and to participate in off-site Center events
- Must be willing to assist in any way asked to fulfill the mission of The Salvation Army
