Job Summary
Youth Development Professional at BGCSC in Everett, WA supports programs for youth ages 5-18 by planning and implementing activities focused on Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Good Character & Citizenship. Responsibilities include assisting with activity planning, managing supplies and equipment, leading physical activities (sports, STEM, arts), supervising children in accordance with WA state law and BGCSC standards, preparing snacks with food-safety practices, applying trauma-informed approaches to behavior, supporting enrollment, maintaining safe and engaging environments, fostering positive relationships with youth, and adhering to BGCSC Cultural DNA guidelines. The role requires positive, organized performance in a fast-paced setting, ability to work with diverse youth, and flexibility for varying hours; background checks and drug testing are required.
Required Qualifications
- Sixteen (16) years of age or older
- Ability to remain positive and organized in a fast-paced work environment
- Ability to incorporate organizational values fun, respect, integrity, community, and acceptance into all practices
- Prior experience working with youth or a background in early childhood education preferred
- Flexibility to work different hours based on seasonal and operational needs
- Ability to pass a drug test upon hire
- Ability to pass a background check in accordance with BGCSC standards upon hire
- Ability to walk or stand constantly with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to use fine motor movements with or without reasonable accommodation
