Job Summary
Youth Development Professional tasked with assisting the Childcare or Program Director to develop and operate a quality school-age childcare program compliant with Delacare licensing. Responsibilities include delivering age-appropriate programs for children ages 6–12, ensuring safe implementation of activities, supervising children within licensing guidelines, maintaining productive relationships with parents, school faculty, and staff, modeling positive behavior, and contributing to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware presence in the community. The role requires adherence to club policies, keeping programs aligned with the organization’s five core program areas and Youth Development Strategy, and readiness to assume additional duties as needed. Certifications and background checks are required, with a work schedule primarily Monday–Friday in split shifts, and potential occasional statewide travel. Environmental conditions include indoor/outdoor settings and transfer between clubs as needed.
Required Qualifications
- School Age Site Assistant Certificate (Level I)
- School Age Site Coordinator Certificate from the Department of Education (Level II)
- School Age Site Coordinator Administrator certificate from the Department of Education (Level III)
- First Aid/CPR Certification (or obtained within two months of hire)
- Ability to drive 8-passenger van (valid license with <5 points)
- Proficiency in Spanish preferred
- All Levels must pass FBI clearance, State of Delaware Criminal History Background Check, National and State Sexual Abuse Registry check, National and State Child Abuse Registry Check per DelaCare regulations
